CGiii Comment

So...what's wrong with Manhattan Romance?

Answer: Tom O'Brien...director, writer and 'star'...an aspiring, wannabe Woody Allen...without all those necessary neuroses that make the diminutive man so endearing.

Yes...there are those that have compared this film with Woody's...well, that's akin to doing the same with carbon and diamond...they do have a common source...alas, their molecular structures are vastly different.

O'Brien should quit appearing in front of the camera...his awkward gangliness has less appeal than soured milk.

It is a rather slick film...the content is the problem...

If you can't do Woody...don't do Woody.

Stay behind the camera...be yourself.

The(ir) Blurb...

Danny, a commercial editor and documentary filmmaker attempts to finish his film, a study on relationship while navigating the relationships in his own life. Will he continue to chase the unattainable Theresa a hippy new age dancer (Caitlin Fitzgerald) or will he finally admit he's in love with his best friend Carla (Katherine Waterston) who is in an unfulfilling relationship with a political strategist (Gaby Hoffman). Manhattan Romance is a funny insightful look at contemporary life in Manhattan. It explores new age ideas and open relationship as well as true friendship and connection.
