CGiii Comment

Well...it's not as bad as they say it is...saying that, it's not as good as it could have been!

Yes, it does have that one massive problem, the parodying of autism! And, a few others to boot! But, all the screams and shouts about how ableist this film is...are, fundamentally, wrong. Sia, no doubt, had good intentions...she just went around about it the wrong way. If, indeed, there is a right way!?!

Dustin Hoffman, Tom Hanks and a whole host of other actors won Oscars for their portrayals of characters with disabilities - are all these films and awards destined to be thrown into the uber-sensitive bin known as cancel culture?

Whatever has happened to the artistic licences and freedoms we all used to embrace and [freely] express? Filmmakers, storytellers, actors, singers, comedians are all being restrained, censored and curtailed due to this overt sensitivity waging war against sensibility.

Sia has presented her interpretation of autism. That's really about it...some will get it, some [looks like most] won't. Music is cluttered with 'issues' that needn't have been present, HIV being one! Less is more, as they say. Music has more than enough!

Is it a bad film? Well, the Golden Globes don't think so...up for 'Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy' and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy [Kate Hudson] - it will be interesting to see how many other nominations it will collect!

And...how polarizing this film will become! Because, it will certainly polarize!
