CGiii Comment

Hello, hello?!?

Can anyone explain why this was nominated for the Queer Palm?

Can anyone explain why this received a screening at Cannes? There must have been an anthropological convention nearby...

There's no LGBT content in it...and, don't even think about creating some abstract subtext.

Some pretty boys and a few bum cheeks do not constitute subtext.

Apart from it being a meandering, incomprehensible, anthropological odyssey...it's as boring as hell.

However...for a filipino film, it's a refreshing change from the usual crap that this country produces...within the context of LGBT cinema....poor boy from the sticks becomes a rent-boy in the big city...

Auraeus Solito did produce one of the country's finest films...with The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros...unfortunately, he has failed to come close with any of his other offerings...this being no exception.

There are moments of beauty to be found...finding them entails sitting through the entirety of the film...but, the final scenes are rather breathtaking.
