CGiii Comment

"In order to complete his coming out journey, Adam must tell his childhood best friend, Tyler, that he is gay. Slight problem: Adam is in love with Tyler, and Tyler has a girlfriend."

It is a coming of age comedy drama about a 17 year old boy (Adam) building up the courage to come out as gay to his childhood best friend- Tyler. While many teenage coming out stories focus on the protagonist struggling to tell their family about their secret- Tell Tyler opens with this scene, immediately setting itself apart as a unique LGBTQ+ story. Adam recollects this event to his best friends, Meghan and Brandon, who quickly pick up that he is yet to tell Tyler, his childhood best friend. It becomes clear that Adam is in fact in love with Tyler- and his fear of rejection is keeping him from coming out to him. It's this conflict which drives the narrative of the film.
