Battleship Potemkin

Bronenosets Potyomkin
  • Director: Sergei M. Eisenstein

CGiii Comment

Cinematic history and, possibly, the most influential film of all time.

Every film student and maker should be forced to watch this - the digital age has certainly failed in many aspects of film-making and Potemkin supplies the answers - imagery, composition, choreography, tension and direction.

All, sadly, lacking in the low-budget digital film boom - everyone thinks they can be film-makers - it takes more than a camera.

Watch and learn.
