CGiii Comment

A bit of a non-event, to be truthful...it would seem that being non-binary is not as funny as Mae Martin thought!

As easy as it is to spot a screeching queen...it's just as easy to spot a screaming lesbian...but, since being 'non-binary' is the new normal [now], too many poofs and dykes are hiding behind this new [bizarre] moniker...why? Well...that one for the non-binary sociologists to answer!

Feel Good really does tick all of those sociological check-lists...name it, it's in it.

The only problem is...is...it's not funny, in the slightest. Maybe this is the template for [new] non-binary humour - the show is stuffed full of stereotypes and clichées - but, let's face it...stereotypes and clichées probably have new names [now].

Look, it's simple...if you're going to do a 'comedy' about stand-up...make sure that the 'stand-up' is funny! It ain't rocket science and this ain't funny!

The(ir) Blurb...

The show centers on the fictional Mae, as she tries her hand at stand-up comedy in London. When she meets a beautiful young consort, Mae has to struggle with her buried insecurities and newfound sobriety. Lisa Kudrow also stars as Mae's neurotic mother. Like so many comedies that focus on addiction, Feel Good has some very big laughs, and a few bitter pills to swallow. In this case, the sweetness is worth the pain.
