Dontcha just luv hippies??

Well, this was made 5 years after Vietnam ended and hippies were ebbing away.

The bisexual element was eliminated and the huge impact that the stage show had failed to materialise onto the big screen.

It's all nostalgia now with one or two good songs thrown in for good measure.

The message is lost to a mere faded memento. Shame.

Still, it's worth watching especially for the last 30 minutes...and for Forman, an Oscar-winning director.

The(ir) Blurb...

This movie, based on the cult Broadway musical of the 60s, tells a story about Claude, a young man from Oklahoma who comes to New York City. There he strikes up a friendship with a group of hippies, led by Berger, and falls in love with Sheila, a girl from a rich family. However, their happiness is short because Claude must go to the Vietnam war.
