Big House (The)

Country: Australia, Language: English, 24 mins

  • Director: Rachel Ward
  • Writer: Rachel Ward
  • Producer: Bryan Brown

CGiii Comment

Obviously, Rachel Ward has never been in an all-male prison...liberties have been taken and a sensitivity has crept in...which works - to a certain extent.

The beginning is a bit scrappy...using the camera as the character. But, bear with it...things improve exponentially.

There's a great scene involving a newspaper. And, there's a killer line: he touched more than your prick.

With a bit more realism...less of the stereotypical vision of prison life...a rather worthy feature could have been gleaned from this.
