CGiii Comment
A particularly unpleasant portrait of incompetent parents & teenage life...in smalltown America.
It's a little too simplistic...the fat family produces fat kids, the f**ked-up psychologist adopts a f**ked-up Lolita...as a replacement for a dead child.
Basically, everyone is f**ked-up...but, thankfully, Cuesta does provide a light at the end of this f**ked-up tunnel.
The acting is too inconsistent to be ignored - especially the mother.
As a follow-up, this is a little disappointing from Mr Cuesta, considering his debut - L.I.E. - was an exceptional piece of film-making.
