CGiii Comment

Makeshift filmmaking...with an inordinate amount of urination, driving, diving, swimming, running and stripping...well, the gay character likes to get his kit off at any given moment.

You would be easily forgiven in thinking that the entire film was made-up on the spot...it's as riveting as a rusty nail.

Too much time wasted in getting to a conclusion that is as hideous as it is predictable. These 'cute' boys come across as cruel, exploitative predators...surely, that was not the intention?!?!

Perhaps, it was...that's a worry.

However, with no structure, little effort, no imagination and, very little plot...You and I will be swept under the carpet...

It has to be said...if all the padding had been taken out, this would have been - perhaps - a credible short film.

It's a shame because the gay/straight friendship conundrum is a very interesting avenue to explore. You and I simply states that...there's no such a thing.

The(ir) Blurb...

Summer in Berlin. Jonas is planning a trip through the little known area of the Uckermark in preparation for a photography project. He invites his best friend, Phillip, to come along. They haven’t met since the time they spent together in London. So they pack up their Mercedes camper and take off across uncharted territory, stopping whenever they see something they like, taking pictures and generally enjoying a laid-back road trip. The fact that Phillip is gay has never been an issue for either of them. When they pick up a hitchhiker named Boris, however, who shows Jonas some interesting spots and starts to make moves on Phillip, the friendship of the two starts to fray. Maybe three’s a crowd after all? By the end of the summer, things between Jonas and Phillip won’t ever be the same again.
