CGiii Comment

A film that addresses a rather painful and grim reality...

Once upon a time - in the not too distant past, although some 'kids' think it was eons ago - activism's main concern was to fight for an equal playing field and to fight - tooth and nail - to save countless lives...cut - dramatically & tragically - short by HIV/AIDS. Those were the days...

These days...all we are hear - from the younger generation - is...gender neutral loos, silly new pronous [ze, indeed!], this washing, that phobia...all awhile attaching a ridiculous amount of 'self-defining' labels to themselves to make them all feel more comfortable in their young, politcally-corrected skins...cis-gendered, non-binary, gender-fluid, macho-femme hogwash.

Millennials are living with unprecedented freedoms and rights...and, they take them all for granted, as if those rights and freedoms were always theirs to embrace! Well, babies, they weren't...

And, that's where After Louie comes in...with all guns a-blazin' - Sam Cooper [Alan Cumming] ain't happy with the current climate!

After Louie is an ultra-verbose kick in the teeth...

The(ir) Blurb...

After Louie is a feature-length narrative film that explores the contradictions of modern gay life and the burden of a painful LGBT history.

Alan Cumming plays Sam, an AIDS activist and member of ACT UP in the 1980s and '90s, who witnessed the deaths of many close friends and lovers. Battle-wounded and struggling with survivor’s guilt, Sam now resents the complacency of his former comrades, and derides what he sees as the younger generation’s indifference to the politics of sex, and of death.
