Naywá returns to her hometown of Oeiras, a city in the interior of Piauí, and invites a group of amateur actors to read and stage a 1758 document that recounts a Witches’ Sabbath held there. Arrenego is a film that explores the ongoing legacy of colonial, racial, and gender oppression in Brazil, drawing connections between the past and the contradictions of the present.


Naywá retorna a sua cidade natal, Oeiras, no interior do Piauí, e propõe a um grupo de atores amadores a leitura e encenação de um documento de 1758, que narra um Sabá de Bruxas na cidade. Arrenego é um filme que aborda o tema da persistência das opressões coloniais, de raça e de gênero no Brasil, conectando o passado com as contradições do presente.
