CGiii Comment

Is there a difference between legs or arms tied together in a BDSM practice and the bars and railings that cover streets and urban environments? There is a difference, yes, and it cannot be seen with a simple glance, because BDSM nodes and pedestrian crossings can occupy the same space in the same shot. The difference must be found with the word, with the testimony of a bondage expert, with images of freedom on that very same urban street that binds so much to obligations and stereotypes, much more than a BDSM knot binds the flesh.

Alternating an interview with some allusive experimental montages, in the third episode of the anthology Female Misbehaviour, the great German director proposes the trespassing of private desire into public space, stating that BDSM knots made for one’s own pleasure give heat, and that knots crushing elements of urban geometries give terror. For Monika Treut sex is also performativity and creativity, and the words of her interviews become the brush that draws the great map of free desire.
