A+ for content - who doesn't love a drag queen?!? Those bloody activists...that's who!!!
Well...what about drag queen activists!!! Put that in your bras and stuff it!
A whirlwind history of Fire Island...the drag queen invasion of the Pines and the lesbian invasion of the Island...yip, those women like to take over everything that's [man]gay! Ouch!
If the tables were turned: would the infiltration of men into a lesbian community be as 'warmly' welcomed?!? Definitely, a subject worthy of more investigation...pity this film didn't delve a little deeper that box of Pandoras...
C- for quality...editing, sound, composition...all a little haphazard.
It's not a great film...but, it is entertaining...especially when the bejewelled, begowned drag queens descend upon The Pines followed - dowdily - by the lesbians...all dressed the same - like firemen. C'mon...Glitz it up girls!
Sadly, this film didn't receive the audience or attention it deserved. Root it out - you won't be disappointed...especially if you like drag queens.

Founded in 1869, Cherry Grove (Fire Island, NY) is considered by most to be the first openly LGBTQ community in the United States. It has become known as one of the most accepting resort communities - a place where you can not only discover who you are, but also freely experiment with who or what (gender) you may want to become. Cherry Grove is also known for the famous "INVASION" - an annual ritual that takes place every July 4th as a celebration of gender acceptance that culminates with a grand reception in the harbor of Fire Island Pines. This film tells the stories of a variety of long-term residents and what they find so wonderful about life in Cherry Grove.
