CGiii Comment

A family affair - look at all those Ratliffs in the credits...how sweet.

One of the most ridiculous films ever made - the family would probably like it to be described as bizarre - a cult film - well, babies, not by a long shot.

It's a hybrid of an acoustic hippy musical...a horror/slasher with a human growing out of the basement floor and a poof in the back garden - who lives in a caravan.

This family seems to have an incestuous humour - well, keep it in the family because it certainly does not translate into the big world outside beyond la-la land.

The(ir) Blurb...

A struggling songwriter accepts a job as caretaker for a mysterious old home, and discovers a human hand growing out of the basement floor in this independent shocker. His musical career going nowhere, Tom begins working as a caretaker in a run down Victorian home. It's a decent way to make ends meet, but upon venturing into the basement Tom is deeply disturbed to find a human hand growing out of the floor. Before long the hand has grown into an arm, and then a head. Soon it has a personality all of its own. Eventually Tom and The Growth ("Archie") begin to develop an odd yet healthy relationship. Unfortunately the same can't be said for Tom's involvement with the gorgeous Veronica. Veronica is involved with Tom's next-door neighbor Philip, but she isn't exactly the faithful type. In some ways, Veronica is more mysterious than the strange creature that grew out of the basement floor. Now, as Tom becomes torn between the two relationships, his once-normal existence becomes increasingly surreal.
