CGiii Comment

In Islam, the gender binary is black and white, no in-betweens...where a family without a male member is worthless.

Nidal suffered unimaginable trauma...and, became a boy.

This is not transition...this is trauma, deep psychological trauma.

This is a film that leaves you thinking...how many other kids, going through transition, are doing so because of a trauma in their lives?!?

A sobering and powerful film.

The(ir) Blurb...

Fourteen-year-old Nidal is one of the 4.8 million Syrians who have been displaced by war. Born female, Nidal has identified as a boy since he was nine years old which coincided with their escape from Syria. As his body starts to mature, he is forced to navigate the complexity of his circumstances in the confines of a refugee camp and a culture that cannot comprehend gender fluidity.
