CGiii Comment

Contrived and, almost, unbearably boring.

Winterbottom's indulgence is intolerable - a blatant provocation with little intelligence - perhaps, his own voyeurism replaces his sexless persona.

Porn versus art is a tedium too many directors think that they are equipped to address - very few are and Winterbottom is most definitely not qualified - very far from it.

All in all, it is an exercise in dull, lifeless characterisations with over-bearing explicity.

For acquired tastes and those desperate to play with themselves.

Oh...and, the writing is awful.

The(ir) Blurb...

Matt, a young glaciologist, soars across the vast, silent, icebound immensities of the South Pole as he recalls his love affair with Lisa. They meet at a mobbed rock concert in a vast music hall--London's Brixton Academy. They are in bed at night's end. Together, over a period of several months, they pursue a mutual sexual passion whose inevitable stages unfold in counterpoint to nine live-concert songs.
