CGiii Comment

The story of "Berlin Angels" arose 7 Years ago in Kreuzberg, Berlin - the same place, where most of the film was finally shot.

For example, the gay cafe adjoining a palestinean fastfood restaurant is the house where I lived back then. Besides being confronted with hard facts from my family background, I was partying excessively at that time in Berlin's dazzling night swamp.

While I was having fun, I started to reflect what I was doing. I had neighbours from various countries, only separated from me through thin walls and I asked myself what effects the nightly noises, coming from my apartment might have for somebody from another cultural background.

The story and the characters of the rentboy Jo and the afghanian Irshad were born. Partyqueen Lisa followed as a bridge between these two worlds.
