DV8 - Dead Dreams of Monochrome Men

Country: UK, Language: English, 52 mins

  • Director: David Hinton
  • Producer: Nigel Wattis

CGiii Comment

It's a dance piece with a serial killer, a bit of S&M and a bad version of a Donna Summer track.

Okay? There is talking in it - well, a couple of artsy lines that mean nothing.

Surprisingly, for a dance piece, there is very little dancing - there is a lot of standing still, writhing around in knickers...but, nothing that could perceivably be called [talented] dancing.

Hollow and conceited.

The(ir) Blurb...

Dead Dreams of Monochrome Men is a starkly brutal, stunningly beautiful study of masculine identity, executed through choreographed movement and dance. Directed by David Hinton and featuring the daring physicality of DV8 Physical Theatre, this film* presents a series of vignettes which explore the conflicting desires and fleeting connections of four men on the make.
