Montgomery is rapidly becoming the kiss of death when it comes to the credibility of a film...here, he actually 'acts' and it is more excruciating to watch than when he doesn't 'act'.
Playing the geek...according to Montgomery, is composed of constant facial tics, perpetual pursing of the lips and a voice that would grate the epidermis off of a Rhino...
Clift, the auteur, demonstrates his acute inability to direct and his flaccid impotency as a writer.
With a running time of nearly 2 hours...this is a masterclass in extreme, twisted torture.
