James Franco continues with his arty, gay obsession...aka the Franco Faggot Film!!!
Okay...it seems that quite a few people have read this all wrong. As we see it, this is not a behind-the-scenes making of a short film film...if that sounds confusing. Good.
This is a film about making a short film, totally scripted, blurring lines and confusing the meekly minded...plus, there's an added 'controversial' bonus...
Now....what's more controversial than gay porn...? The answer: gay porn with a straight Hollywood A-lister attached - as a fully-clothed voyeur filmmaker filming two men gobbling!!! A damn fine lesson on how to court controversy.
And...it worked. Without Franco, this would have died an instantaneous death...and, it's because of Franco that makes it so interesting...celebrity and ego, porn and art...
The two big surprises - supplying the biggest laughs are: Collin Chavez as the Drag Queen declaring his heterosexuality (laugh, we nearly exploded) AND...the little pornographic co-director, he looks as if he's being attacked and beaten by a humongous, mutant, marauding hairpiece...it's bigger than him!!! Scream like you have never screamed before!!!
Comedy with erections, toupees and stars...what more could you ask for...the future of film is safe. Ha ha.
Trailer...
The(ir) Blurb...
In order to avoid an X rating, 40 minutes of gay S&M footage was rumored to be cut and destroyed from the 1980 film, "Cruising." Inspired by the mythology of this controversial film, filmmakers James Franco and Travis Mathews collaborate to imagine their own lost footage. Amid the backdrop of a frenzied film set actor Val Lauren reluctantly agrees to take the lead in the film. Val is repeatedly forced to negotiate his boundaries during scenes on and "off camera," as unsimulated gay sex happens around him. The film itself is constructed as a play with boundaries remaining queer in subject and form. As much a film about filmmaking as it is about an exploration of sexual and creative freedom, "Interior. Leather Bar." defies easy categorization.
