Nate and Margaret

CGiii Comment

It's not the greatest film ever made but it does have a huge heart.

Adloff's first feature...and, refreshingly original within the gay genre.

There are flaws...too many jump cuts, some awkward scenes, strange silences, a few silly/unconvincing performances...weak material.

But, Nate and Margaret themselves are rather delightful - scrapping all the peripherals and focusing on these characters...their limits, their strengths would have been wiser route.

That said...promising potential is clearly present...

The(ir) Blurb...

Nate, a 19 year old film student, and Margaret, a 52 year old spinster, are best friends in an odd, quirky, totally working kind of way... until Nate's audacious classmate Darla sets him up on a date with James. Nate's new life shakes apart his friendship with Margaret, just as she is trying to start a career as a stand-up comedian.
