CGiii Comment
How can you criticise a movie that was made for the fans...and, [partly] financed by the fans...of the - incomprehensibly popular - eponymous web series?
You can't...unless you want to be hung, drawn and quartered!
Needless to say, we here at CGiii.com pay no mind to being hung, drawn and quartered, Carmilla: The Movie is everything you would expect from a web-series-cum-fan-funded-movie!
The gushing reviews - written by people who ought to get out more - are ludicrous. One wrote on imdb...the greatest movie in queer history - well, that says so much about the [sorry] state of LGBT cinema!
It's pretty simple...if you are a devotee of this man-made, lesbian, bite-fest...then, of course, you are - despite the wobbly production values - going to love it. If you have never seen the web series...well, you really have to...or, you will have no idea what the movie is all about.

It has been five years since Laura and Carmilla vanquished the apocalypse and Carmilla became a bona fide mortal human. They have settled in to a cozy apartment in downtown Toronto; Laura continues to hone her journalism skills while Carmilla adjusts to a non-vampire lifestyle. Their domestic bliss is suddenly ruptured when Carmilla begins to show signs of 're-vamping' - from a fondness for bloody treats to accidental biting - while Laura has started having bizarre, ghostly dreams. The couple must now enlist their old friends from Silas University to uncover the unknown supernatural threat and save humanity - including Carmilla's.
