Good grief...
Is super-stardom really this damn miserable, squalid and petty?!?
As compulsive viewing as it is, it's totally grotesque...and, nowhere near as camp as pre-empted. This is back-stabbing, throat-slitting, spit-in-your-face rivalry...between each and all...stars, journalists, directors and the studio boss...ooooh, Jack Warner must be spinning, or laughing!
A little too much fiction for this Follywood production to be wholesome...Tinsel Town may have become a tad tarnished in recent years...but this...this is uncorroborated corrosion. Still, everyone depicted on-screen is dead (or nearly so)...so, no fear of multiple legal actions, unless the 'spawn' and their 'spawn' decide to sue...!
Sarandon and Lange do admirable jobs as the much mimicked and maligned stars...as do Tucci and Molina. Indeed, it is a polished, compelling production...for all the wrong reasons.
The tabloid appeal is obvious...the hearsay, scandalous...and, the truth...well, who cares about the truth...that's Follywood for ya!
