CGiii Comment

There is a scene, in the film La princesa de Francia by Matías Piñeiro, that is set in a museum. In the scene, while the two protagonists talk, a third “satellite” character talks to them while taking photographs of a statue and some paintings in order to create a catalogue. Matías Piñeiro finds the photos taken during the shooting by the actress, Gabriela Saidón, and realizes how unsuitable they are for that non-existent catalogue, and how precise they were the more the actress was immersed in her role.

Starting from this assumption, the Argentine director questions himself on the Borgesian labyrinths of possibilities that can arise by intertwining fictions into a story. This journey into fantasy brings him together with other directors, other films, other stories, discovering how what cannot be seen and what does not exist can provide concrete and vivid emotions.
