In February 1968, Josep Ferragut, the most important architect in the history of Majorca, was found dead in the middle of a field. This documentary investigates the case of one of the most sordid murders in Franco's Spain.
In the nineteen fifties and sixties, the beginning of the tourism boom transformed the cultural, landscape, economic and political make-up of the Mediterranean countries. Ferragut’s fight against corruption and uncontrolled construction along the coast made him the enemy of politicians and developers alike. But Ferragut also had another problem: he was gay in a society that criminalised and persecuted homosexuals. That is why Ferragut lived a double life until his death, a circumstance that helped to make him introverted and depressed. Fifty years later, Life and Death of an Architect vindicates one of the most interesting personalities from those times and revisits one of the darkest crimes in Spanish history.
