CGiii Comment

Oooh the wild, wild west in the 40s - and it looks so clean.

Seemingly, this is loaded with gay subtext - which is no surprise, cowboys being cowboys...but, blink and you will miss it.

It's the typical tale of a damsel in the thick of it - 2 friends compete for her fanny.

It is beautifully shot, tired old story of an almost knackered genre.

Woefully disappointing for a Frears film.

The(ir) Blurb...

An intimate story of the enduring bond of friendship between two hard-living men, set against a sweeping backdrop: the American West, post-World War II, in its twilight. Pete and Big Boy are masters of the prairie, but ultimately face trickier terrain: the human heart.
