CGiii Comment

Expectations are running high...6 years on...this is the feature film of the short: Postmortem.

The obvious questions: did it deserve a feature? Does it fulfill expectations?

The opening scene (and throughout) requires a tripod. We understand cinéma vérité - this is not cinéma vérité.

Littered with padding - scenes of planes overhead, smoking, driving, music-driven sequences...ad nauseam.

There's just not enough material to stretch into a feature.

The matching haircuts takes it to breaking point. And then, it really does fall apart - scraping the bottom of the barrel...eking out those extra minutes...with a threesome - anyone could have seen that coming a mile off.

Focus, depth of field, lens flare, the constant wobble...the cinematographer needs to read the manual.

The answers to the above questions: No and no.

It's not the worst film ever made - not by a long shot - but, there were great expectations...and, it all amounted to a very hefty letdown.
