Banished

Country: UK, Language: English, 60 mins

  • Director: Jeffrey Walker
  • Writer: Jimmy McGovern
  • Producer: Iain Canning

CGiii Comment

McGovern is a writer for a specific taste...he manages to numb tastebuds with surprising consistency.

As for historical accuracy...obviously, he did absolutely no research.

Add to the mix, shabby production values, daft direction and a mad editor...what do you get? A BBC bomb.

Not even with Russell Tovey can this be regarded as palatable.

After 7 episodes...scrapped and forgotten.
