Herman Klaerhout is the CEO of a Belgian pharmaceutical company. His son Tim starts studying chemistry, which earns him new friends and enemies. Robby, the firm's young ICT specialist, acts as Tim's motivating father-substitute or gentle big brother and has a gay crush on him. Tim's sister Sofie, the firm's research star, returns from a Caribean holiday with her fiancé Pieter Wellens, also researcher an pharmaceutics heir, with an island-stranded young man who only gradually starts remembering his past as Belgian David Verbeecke. The rustic Klaerhout estate in managed by Maarten, a frustrated former finance whiz. Herman's deputy Andrea's idealistic son Sander gets in trouble with activists and his lover, spoiled gallery owner Lotte.
