CGiii Comment

The cinematography, lighting and colour correction are all faultless.

However, how can a shipful of gay men of all shapes, ages and sizes be so dull? Mr Milewski chose his subjects [to interview] unwisely...most simply moan, about their country, about being gay...for godsake, you're on holiday, lighten up!

Being a 'documentary' - it's all very orchestrated and choreographed...rendering it rather meaningless. A classic example of...all show and no substance...it shows alot and you can only guess as to the substance abuse!

If you are planning to go on a gay cruise...be advised: You shouldn't watch this!

In the aftermath of the nightly shenanigans, the decks are strewn with used, discarded condoms...it leaves a particularly unpleasant after-taste...do these men know not what a bin is for? Have they no decency...leaving their residue for some underpaid lackies to clean up! Foul, most foul!

As for the couple who - quite happily - engaged in a public bout of fellatio - get a f**king room! The chap pretending to be a dog...oh grow up!

A film that really does promote the seedier side, the immense immaturity and the vacuous self-centredness...of the gay life! Thankfully not every gay man has bought into this rather vulgar [somewhat depraved] niche.

What a load of old & young [boring] bulges and buttocks...albeit beautifully shot!

The(ir) Blurb...

One week on a cruise ship, with parties, fun and new friendships. The all-gay clientele on board discuss topics such as identity, the body beautiful and the search for sex. Every evening is dedicated to a new theme, challenging the passengers to ever more extravagant, body-hugging outfits. In the cabins however, the talk is more than skin deep as the men open up about their private lives. Marek, a young Polish man just wants to be accepted and loved as a human being and not just because of his taut body. Dipankar from India has just recently come out; he and Palestinian Ramzi are revelling in the kind of freedom they can only dream about in their homophobic societies back home. Martin is HIV positive and ponders hedonistic ways, while Philippe from France observes the proceedings on board serenely from his wheelchair.

In his feature film debut director Ferland Milewski succeeds in providing a look behind the scenes of an ostensibly superficial world. His humorous approach helps him create a genuine bond with the protagonists who talk openly about gay desires, free love and good old-fashioned monogamy.
