When you think of Nashville, Tennessee, what comes to mind? Country music, honky tonk, hot chicken... What you might not immediately imagine is rap music. Enter Daisha McBride AKA “The Rap Girl,” a young female hip hop artist with a quickly growing loyal and global fan base. Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Daisha started rapping at the age of 10. IN HER ELEMENT is a short documentary that highlights Daisha’s journey to break boundaries as a Black woman rapper to perform on Nashville’s world-famous Broadway.
