L7: Pretend We're Dead

Country: USA, Language: English, 87 mins

  • Director: Sarah Price
  • Producer: Maria Aceves; Bob Fagan

CGiii Comment

L7 were one of the most influential bands of the 1990s. With their hearts rooted in the Riot Grrrl scene of Portland and Seattle, they revolutionised the grunge and punk scene of L.A.. With their powerful music they denounced political grievances and fought against the ubiquitous sexism in the music business. Award-winning director Sarah Price has created a worthy chronicle from hundreds of hours of unreleased video footage and concert footage, interviews with the band and contemporary witnesses. With their song Mar-a-Lago rises the hope that the guitar riffs and bass will chase Trump out of office forever.
