CGiii Comment

From Skippy to Walkabout, from Priscilla to Mad Max...and [almost] everything before, after and in between...this is Australia, seen through a familiar - but, very skewed - lens.

Fasten your seatbelts for juxtaposition heaven...a mad & hysterical rollercoaster ride, with some scathing comment to boot!

Hysterical in places, bloody in others...but, biting throughout. It certainly highlights the importance [and abuse] of context. A staggering amount of work went into the making of this...Guy Maddin attempted something similar with The Green Fog - this is how it should be done!

There really are moments of [genuine] genius scattered throughout...our highlights: Skippy was a feminist! Mel Gibson gets flattened! And...Dorothy's new friend: The Babadook! And...that last scene, so very chilling.

Really rather brilliant.

The(ir) Blurb...

TERROR NULLIUS is a political revenge fable which offers an un-writing of Australian national mythology. The sample-based film works entirely within, and against, the official archive in order to achieve a queering and othering of Australian cinema. Part political satire, eco-horror and road movie, TERROR NULLIUS is a world in which minorities and animals conspire, and not-so-nice white guys finish last. Where girl gangs rule the highways, a house is haunted by the spectre of queer Australia and a bicentennial celebration is ravaged by flesh-eating sheep. It's a beautiful bloody mix of the historical and the speculative, the art house and grindhouse.
