Let's get one thing straight from the off...it is that bad!
How many times has Frankenstein been brought to the big screen? How many times has it dismally failed to live up to [the producer's] expectations?
Frankenstein has become a proven formula for failure, take note producers of the future...if you can't improve on the 1931 iconic version...why bother?
The production values are fantastic...no expense spared. Pity the same cannot be said about the script...what's the deal with this Max Landis? A Hollywood brat writes consistent crap...and gets produced!!! Aaaaah the benefits of having a famous daddy!
Radcliffe and McAvoy...not the most obvious choices, considering past incarnations of the characters...in truth, it looks as if they are having a hoot-of-a-time rather than engaging with their distinctive roles. It's all a bit caricature-ish...is that a word?!?
No matter...Victor Frankenstein: The Movie is - most definitely - an ungodly creation.

James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe star in a dynamic and thrilling twist on a legendary tale. Radical scientist Victor Frankenstein (McAvoy) and his equally brilliant protégé Igor Strausman (Radcliffe) share a noble vision of aiding humanity through their groundbreaking research into immortality. But Victor's experiments go too far, and his obsession has horrifying consequences. Only Igor can bring his friend back from the brink of madness and save him from his monstrous creation.
This science fiction drama, based on Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein, revisits the classic story through the eyes of Igor, Dr. Frankenstein’s troubled assistant whom he rescued from the circus. In the film, a closeted nobleman, Baron Bomine, hires Igor’s love interest, Lorelai, to act publicly as his consort. Bomine’s screen time is limited to one scene lasting less than a minute, as Lorelai explains to Igor that Bomine “prefers the company of men” before she and Igor begin an affair. Bomine’s appearance was neither good nor bad, but the brevity of the moment remains too common for LGBT inclusion.
It's one of those blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments...GLAAD and we're being quite serious here...surely you have better things to do?!?
