Bloodsisters

Country: USA, Language: English, 77 mins

  • Director: Michelle Handelman
  • Producer: Monte Cazazza

CGiii Comment

Michelle Handelman’s documentary about the SM/leather dyke scene in San Francisco. We first showed this film in 1995 with the byline ‘Even dykes do it’. In our opinion, this documentary has hardly dated, its reflections about identity and exclusion within the scene – from pushy bottoms to macho femmes – are as relevant as ever. No talking heads either, the celebrated video-artist slash director Handelman serves us explicit SM scenes, enlightening workshops, and exhilarating stage shows. Let’s do it again!
