CGiii Comment

Once upon a time there was, in Australia, the Gay and Married Men's Association (GAMA)...and, unfortunately, the filmmaker completely missed the crux of the story...concentrating on talking heads and archival footage.

This could have been an interesting film about hypocrisy...GAMA & the chap who thinks gay marriage will be as 'successful' as straight marriage...

However...the filmmaker sinks deeper into a rut by proclaiming his subjects to be 'cute' - difficult to take seriously!

The(ir) Blurb...

On the precipice of gay marriage law reform it is hard to imagine that only a few decades ago a ubiquitous and unquestioned homophobic pervaded mainstream Australia. Yet nearly everybody over 40 seems to know at least one couple who divorced after the husband's secret homosexual identity was revealed. Through the experiences of three Australian men - Jim, Allan and Ian - Some Rainbows Never Grey pulls this history out into the open. Despite being locked away from the picket lines, boxed inside their homes by a system of values and beliefs which denied who they were and who they were allowed to love, these men still form an integral part of the struggle for LGBT rights.
