CGiii Comment

Fractured lives in a fragmented day...

Müller allows his camera to do two things...stalk and still.

He also has a fascination with bathrooms, drawn curtains and elevators.

There's no soundtrack to speak of...well, life doesn't have those wailing violins to accompany the highs and lows. This is a level playing field - mundane to the point of pointlessness - all the characters simply want/need attention, sex, love - perhaps, passion. These are passionless lives.

A thoughtful film that is, strangely, involving...it is uncomfortable viewing, allowing the audience to fill in the gaps with their own bleak conclusions.

The(ir) Blurb...

Divided into four chapters - Son, Daughter, Father and Mother - "Four Windows" is a look inside the brains of a not-so-normal German family. Son leaves for school but actually cruises the local gay video arcade. Dad hires a hooker, Mom flirts with the handyman and Daughter rides the subways, looking to share some intimate moments. At dinner that night, the secrets they hold come to a head.
