In Passing

Country: USA, Language: English, 74 mins

  • Director: Kate Fitzgerald
  • Writer: Kate Fitzgerald

CGiii Comment

The music is bloody awful.

The direction is all over the place.

Fitzgerald's debut - duly promoted as an all-female cast and crew production.

It is just too easy to see the many rooms for improvement.

Anyone can point a camera - few do it well.

Not everyone can write - Fitzgerald proves this without a doubt.

Within 10 minutes of watching - it all goes terribly wrong.

The(ir) Blurb...

In Passing… is an urban Love Story between two women set in New York City. Vanessa Kelly and Julia Garrison portrayed by Veronica Mittenzwei and Lisa Rothe respectively. The film explores the dynamic of their relationship, how they reveal the treasures of their hearts and souls to each other and ultimately part, perhaps never to meet again. It is a universal story that many of us have lived through, cried over and grown from. In Passing… intimates that loving another is the surest path to knowing ourselves and that love always transforms us whether we experience incredible joy or deep sorrow. As the character of Julia reflects, …One good thing about life is that it gives us the chance to love over and over again…
