CGiii Comment
World-famous DoP Phedon Papamichael’s latest directorial work “Light Falls” is an outstanding analysis of the divided world we live in.
Set in Greece, the film follows two groups that couldn’t be more antipodal: a well-off young lesbian couple from L.A. and three young Albanian workers. Papamichael truly shows his sixth sense in a suspenseful thriller about the most current issue in our society: the other(ness). Once the light falls on an abandoned hotel site, the violence explodes at night.
Supported by highly gifted newcomer actors (in particular Elensio and Niki Nebieridze), Papamichael stands out as a responsible, righteous, and reflective director who dives deep into our human soul. This wise genre film will stand in the great tradition of masterpieces and surely find its place in the hall of fame of world cinema.
