“Amore oggi” is a film in 4 episodes each one describing a special love story in today’s Italy. One of the episodes, “The champion”, tells the story of Mario Marinelli, a soccer player persecuted by the gossip columnists and the “paparazzi” for his “mysterious feminine” conquests. The matter of fact is the Marinelli is gay and tries to hide his parallel unknown life to the public and his employers. It comes then a moment when Mario Marinelli must decide whether to stop lying or continue to destroy his feelings and his life.
