The 'music' is migraine inducing...but, it does add to the creepiness.
This takes the stereotypical, manipulative and overbearing Chinese mother to the extreme...it really is time to change this particular narrative. To all Chinese sons and daughters, it's time to stand up for yourselves. Fuck tradition, fuck their expectations! Live your true selves.
A truly terrifying film. Done brilliantly, although it didn't need the last scene. By cutting that scene, it would have been a far more powerful film.
