CGiii Comment

Sometimes, filmmakers get in the way...of a good story.

Here, we have three desperately sad stories...Louie, Abdu and Faris, gay Palestinians hiding illegally in Tel Aviv, constantly under the threat of death and deportation...what does the filmmaker ask them: what was your boyfriend's name? As if that mattered, as if we care...for this useless piece of information from a person who has to live his life anonymously in order to survive.

Insensitive, irresponsible...call it what you will.

And then, when Louie is offered asylum in a far off country...the filmmaker gets angry because...Louie doesn't want to leave everything he knows behind...as if the opinion of the filmmaker mattered!!!

Mozer missed the point completely...Louie would prefer to live his life ducking and diving than to face a new language, a new and alien culture...

What could have been an immense film...is ruined by a self-centred, anally-retentive filmmaker...who - obviously - is not fit for this purpose.

These stories deserve to be heard and seen, told...with a more competent person at the helm.

Mr Mozer...you did these men a gross injustice.
