- Director: Ulrike Ottinger
CGiii Comment
Ulrike Ottinger revisits the locations of her famed ‘Berlin Trilogy’, juxtaposing frank documentation with fantasy.
In this exploration of both German urban architecture and her own cinematic work, Ottinger returns to selected locations from her ‘Berlin Trilogy’: Ticket of No Return (1979), Freak Orlando (1981) and Dorian Gray in the Mirror of the Yellow Press (1984). Following a joyous title sequence, industrial scenes and cityscapes are intercut with vignettes from their corresponding film scenes – providing less of a ‘then and now’ than a ‘what if’.
There was a trailer...but, it has since disappeared.
