CGiii Comment
Well...this film has topped many 'Best of 2022' lists! Much to our surprise! Not that it's a bad film, it's just nowhere near as 'sublime' as 'they' say it is.
There's a tissue of a story packaged into a budget holiday, some tai chi, a pre-teen romance and a young father who is finding it all a little overwhelming. Underwhelming is - unfortunately - the understated result.
It slowly builds [potentially] to deliver an emotional wallop like no other...only to fizzle out.
Is he gay? With subtext this subtle...we will never know!

The(ir) Blurb...
Sophie reflects on the shared joy and private melancholy of a holiday she took with her father twenty years earlier. Memories real and imagined fill the gaps between as she tries to reconcile the father she knew with the man she didn't.
