CGiii Comment
One of the many [too many] gay rom-coms...neither special nor memorable.
But...they keep on making them, there's got to be an audience somewhere! Where?!?
My Fake Boyfriend veers from the obsequious to the insidious in the blink of an eye! If it had planked its feet firmly in the insidious terrain...then, maybe, it could have been a a cutting, illuminating, inspired indictment on social media. But...alas, it trundled down 'Hallmark Alley' and got lost in a maze of puppy-dog eyes and cheap sentiment.
This is just 'straight' rom-com re-defined/re-imagined/plagiarised...surely, 'we' can do such much better!
Billed as a comedy...yet, there were no laughs to be had.
Report card: Could have done so [so much] better.
