Rosa's Flowers

After witnessing a traumatic event, Emily dreams about Rosa, her childhood friend in Jakarta. Memories of their friendship unfold in a small batik shop during the period of the Asian Financial Crisis (1997-1998). Unaware of the tensions around them, the girls listen to rock music, watch old films together, and Rosa shows Emily the batik pattern she created of beautiful flowers. But civil unrest soon catches up to them as violent riots across Jakarta threaten their safety. Emily must now confront her past in order to reunite with the memory of a friend she once loved, and the beauty of the place she called home.
