CGiii Comment

Way back in 1972, Bertolucci made Last Tango - instant acclaim, instant notoriety.

Since then not alot - Last Emperor, is the only film of note.

With an exceptional cast, he fails to deliver what should have been a story about sophisticated depravity, jealousy and inhumanity - what we get is a somewhat twee warbling of the wealthy - with a ridiculously happy ending.

You are not as good as you think, Mr Bertolucci - especially when you have the assets to make something of real importance - possibly, the most disappointing director of all time.
