A story about loving and living in a society that is slowly working towards acceptance.
Kevin is a passionate and at times painfully naïve romantic that has been swept off his feet by a reserved older man. As their relationship develops, he must face internal and external pressure while also trying to figure out the type of person he wants to be and how to be that person.
Set against the backdrop of the fight for marriage equality in Taiwan, The Teacher captures the friction of living in a country moving towards progressiveness while still grappling with conservative attitudes.
The Teacher shows how even as society takes huge steps forward, there are still painful realities at a personal level. A love letter to Taiwan, it explores culture, expectation and the occasional hypocrisy of love.
