CGiii Comment

Watch Babenco's remarkable Pixote first...

If Babenco had made this...well, that is as unlikely as Jesus popping up in Harrods. Yes, it would be a little hypocritical...but, what a statement!

Life imitating art..or, is it the other way around?!?

The title tells it all...it should have been called: Who Fucked Pixote? Babenco, his Mother, his Brother, Brazil? It would have been a far more interesting film - rather than this over-acted, melodramatic monstrosity.

Did Joffily learn nothing when he watched the source material?!?!?

Again, life imitating art...'Pixote' learned nothing, given no direction regarding his new-found celebrity status...he squandered the opportunities that he could have exploited.

The lack of education rarely produced anything worthwhile. Opportunities just fritter away.

Fernando Ramos da Silva died in 1987, aged 20 - he was failed by everyone, including himself and this film. Tragedies.

As they say...you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
